Game, Set, Interact – SIGNALS Wimbledon - BBC

Learn how BBC R&D built a new interactive layer on broadcast TV called SIGNALS which was used for this years Wimbledon coverage. Using realtime ball tracking data from hawkeye and SMT, the team created a dynamic, interactive and participative experience for audiences. How VRT turned World Cup night matches into a live YouTube community - VRT

During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Sporza, the sports brand of Belgium's public broadcaster VRT, experimented with YouTube watchalongs around late-night matches. By combining creators, live interaction and sports fandom, the project explored how night matches could become a recurring community experience and attract audiences beyond traditional sports coverage.
